Title: SuperGrind 2000 losing power
Post by: dopauls on February 04, 2025, 05:35:29 PM
Good morning.  I have an old Supergrind 2000 which I have been very happy with.  But over the last year, it seems to lose power after being used for a while, like 15-20 minutes.  It does not take much power to stop the wheel from turning.  Could there be a problem with the motor or a drive belt that needs replacing?

Your friction wheel may be wearing or glossed over causing slippage. I would contact Tormek support.

If that is the issue, then replace the old plastic wheel with the newer, metal one.

Try sandpaper first.

There is no belt, it is a shaft & friction wheel. My SuperGrind 2000 was doing the same thing. I cleaned both with alcohol problem went away. Take off the honing wheel for easy access.
