Hi all - great to be here!
I've got a T4 with an SVS-38 short tool jig.
After a first go at it, I'm wondering how short ist short, and how long is too long. My chisels are about 13cm long. Is that too long? Couldn't find a clear answer in the original handbook, neither here:

Thanks for some ideas.

The instruction booklet (https://tormek.com/download/18.681cbd68182e94c066a21e06/1664201758704/Instruction%20SVS-38_EN.pdf) says it has a minimum length of 45mm. In theory, I'm not sure there's a "too long" answer, since you could just clamp it near the edge, regardless of length? As long as it didn't exceed the 38mm max width.
I'm just guessing here, since I don't have one.
This video overviews the SVS-32 which is the predecessor to the SVS-38, and works the same way (just 6 mm narrower).

As noted, it works with tools down to 45mm / 1 ¾" in length.
Either can be combined with an MB-100 or MB-102 and, using the side of the grindstone, get even closer. Here's a video about the MB-100 (the MB-102 works the same way for this).
