Title: #79 Side Rabbet plane, sharpening
Post by: mnarges on December 05, 2007, 04:06:46 PM
Has anyone sharpened the skew beveled irons from this plane.  Which is the suggested jig?

Sorry for the delay in replying.  I'm kind of computer illiterate, and got locked out of my own house!  ;D

These can be sharpened with either straight edge jig -- SVH-60 or the new SE-76.  Put the blade in the jig with the clamp only snug, then align the blade parallel with the grindstone.

Jeff, thanks a lot for the suggestion. I will give the ideas a try.

Sincerely,
