Title: pfeil gouges
Post by: duck on August 08, 2007, 06:46:51 PM
My Pfeil gouges all have flat bottoms and do not seem to roll on the rest bar very nice.  If I use the 185 jig my 20 deg bevel seems to be something less than 20 deg towards the outer edges of the gouges, particularly in the 25mm-35mm gouge widths.  Any suggestions would be welcome.

Adjust the knuckle of the SVD-185 to setting 1 to 2 and try that.  I think that somewhere in that range you should be able to get a consistent bevel over a wide gouge.

Hello Jeff, it would have been nice if he had replied and was succesful. I guess he got it to work, that was five years ago.
All the best, Edgar
