Title: Water well will not raise
Post by: bachnglock on April 12, 2021, 08:42:18 AM
Hey all,
I finally got a Tormek T8 yesterday, and when I attempted to sharpen my first knife, the water well will not raise up using the knob. The wellthe instantly contacts the stone and rubs severely. The grinding wheel is so close to the machine housing there's no room for the well to raise. Is there supposed to be a spacer when installing the grinding wheel?

Hi Bruce,
welcome to the forum.

You're correct, a quite big washer is supposed to be on the shaft. Without it, the stone would also get stuck and rub against the housing.

Welcome to the forum, Bruce.

Mike is spot on. Your "Washer for Stone", part #29, is missing. It's a very simple fix. Email support (support@tormek.se) or (info@ tormek.se if you live in the US). You'll soon have your replacement part.
