Title: I need shaft stopper
Post by: Sharpco on May 11, 2018, 08:08:58 AM
I need several stopper for Knife jig(11.8mm) and Universal support(12.1mm). I want to be able to use a single bolt as shown in the picture. Can anyone know the name of this?

I can't get it in Korea and I want to buy it in the US. I don't know what size to buy.

Thank you.

Youngbin,

It is a collar.  All types are available.  I get mine from McMaster Carr.  Here is their listing :

I buy 12mm for all, but probably need someone else to give more details on that.

Rich is right on both points.... Mcmaster-Carr and 12mm.

Specifically, I have used this one...

... it fits on both the USB & Knife Jig.  (Don't know if it's the best, haven't tried any others, but it has worked for me).

What are you making?

I have used the same type, thanks to CB, but in stainless for my Pin Pivot Clamp Collars.

I have about 10 available as of yesterday ($40 plus shipping).

Sharpco,

The stop ring from your square edge jig might be a good substitute. Here is a link to the part number:

https://advanced-machinery.myshopify.com/products/1091-stop-ring

The locking screw has a standard 6mm metric thread. You should be able to find a variety of screws for it.

I confess that I do not use the stops on either end when using the square edge jig, however, the stop collar can be useful for different things.
