Title: Sharpen Hollows and Rounds
Post by: wirepusher on December 09, 2014, 02:28:03 AM
Is there a thin (narrow) wheel that can be used on the T-7 to sharpen hollows?

It looks like I can set up the gouge jig to sharpen the rounds, but need something to sharpen the concave edge of the hollows.

Welcome to the forum, wirepusher. I believe you are out of luck in your search for such a wheel with the Tormek. I would suggest using hardwood dowels with diamond paste or adhesive backed abrasive paper. I have used the abrasive paper to sharpen my bread knife (1/4" dowel). For an odd sized plane which is still sharp, you can plane off a board to the shape you need and use that board to hold the abrasive paper or diamond paste.

For much better advice, I would do a google on larry williams plane maker. The former Clark and Williams are the premier wooden plane makers, and they did a long DVD on sharpening wooden planes.

Good luck,

Ken
