Title: Proper angle for a three point tool
Post by: Dick Parman on April 17, 2013, 12:27:27 AM
I am making a three point tool from a 3/8 round blank that
I bought from Doug Thompson.  Does anyone have
an idea on what angle the tool should be ground at?

I purchased a 7/16 detail gouge from Doug.  (I was fortunate to be in many of Ernie Conover's classes.  I also met King Heiple at Ernie's school.  Both King and Ernie are very knowledgeable turners and excellent teachers.)

Doug was very helpful.  I would contact him or Ernie Conover.
