Title: T3 for infrequent turners?
Post by: dustybob on October 23, 2012, 10:16:57 PM
I am a weekend amateur just getting started in turning.  I would expect to turn less that 10 hours per month.  Would a T3 be sufficient for my needs?  What are its drawbacks for this amount of use?
Thanks.

You certainly aren't going to wear out a T-3 at that rate. The issue in my mind is that people who do something infrequently are the ones who need their equipment to perform flawlessly, since they don't have the experience to know when something might need to be finessed. Unless it just isn't possible financially, I would still recommend the T-7 over the T-3.
