Title: Setting the SVD-185
Post by: TomC on September 11, 2012, 04:01:48 AM
Hello everyone, I'm new here. I have a Tormek system on order. I have the SVD-185 jig and the video on use of turning tools. My SVD-185 is marked 0,2,4, and 6. There are raised areas and notches. I don't know if the raised areas are to match the numbers or the notches are to match the numbers. Can someone clarify. Thanks in advance.

Tom,

The bottom line is, it doesn't matter whether you line up to the ridge or the valley, as long as you do it the same way every time. Personally, I line to the ridge, as I can see it a bit better.
