Title: Best way to sharpen a fishing hook?
Post by: chicotrout on August 11, 2012, 03:53:26 PM
I realize that this is quite a simple task, but I know that there are a bunch of creative folks on this forum and I'm curious as to how people approach this job.

--Sorry, newbie here waiting to get his new T7 delivered with nothing else to do in the meantime but think of things to sharpen... ;D

Fishing tackle stores sell a small sharpening stone that has a groove cut though it. You simply run the hook through that groove to touch up the point. In a pinch I suppose a fingernail clipper with its built- in file might also be useful and it's great for nipping off ends of knots when tying lures on.

Let's see...is there a Tormek jig for that?
