Title: Asymmetrical grind on gouges
Post by: markne on November 30, 2010, 02:03:56 PM
Does anyone know how to do an asymmetrical grind on gouges.  This is similar to the type used by Richard Rafan.

Thanks
Mark

Use the SVS-50 with the vee-block seat to do the left (straight-ground side), then use the SVD-185 to do the right (side-ground side). It takes a bit of delicacy to blend the middle where they come together. That's why I prefer to do the straight-ground side first. With the SVD-185 you can "feather" in as you come to the center.
