What is meant by the term re-profiling?

Changing the shape of the blade. For example, if the tip has been broken off, "re-profiling" would be the process of creating a new tip. Another example would be changing a serrated blade to a smooth edged blade.

Jeff,

Would it be correct to assume you mean placing the knife on a flat surface (such as the Torlock) and reshaping at a 90 degree angle?  Would you do this with knife i the front (horizontal) position?

You certainly could do it that way, but I usually don't. I do it in the knife jig.

Interesting.  I'll try it that way next time I reprofile.

Thanks.
