Title: SVD-005
Post by: Vilhjalmur_Sigurjonsson on August 30, 2010, 10:30:28 PM
Hi,
recently bought the SVD-005 upgrade, but to my surprise it had 8mm screw. My old tool was fitted with a 6mm screw.
I quickly turned a replacement insert to have it fit, but was wondering if this was normal?

The first generation of the SVD-180 used a 6mm screw. That production was quite short-lived. The subsequent version used an 8mm screw. The 8mm insert is available on request, at no charge, from the Tormek importer in your country.

Jeff,
thanks for the clarification, I bought mine just when it was first introduced.
I won't be needing the insert as I made one myself, but I was a little confused as it was not mentioned in the leaflet that there had been two versions.
