Title: mower blade sharpening
Post by: copperhead4321 on June 01, 2010, 02:49:08 PM
does anyone know a good way to sharpen mower blades on the Tormek? I have several to sharpen and can't find a jig that will hold the blades. Is there an alternate way of sharpening mower blades? thanks for any help.

I do them freehand, with the wheel turning away from the edge.  Grade the stone frequently with the coarse side of the stone grader to keep it cutting aggressively.

In addition to the method I describe there, I've also in the past used the universal tool rest along with a c-clamp attached to the blade to keep the grinding angle constant.
