Title: Problem with wheel stalling on Supergrind 2000
Post by: retseih on April 10, 2010, 08:46:03 PM
I have a Tormek Supergrind 2000 and it will work fine on about 5 chisels.  After that when I "lean" into it to take out a nick in the chisel the wheel will slow then stop as the motor stalls.  The machine has only had light use over the several years I have owned it.  I have had the honing wheel off, but there is nothing obvious.  Anything I can try?

thx, Dick

Take the honing wheel off and start the machine.  Hold some coarse sandpaper (80 - 120 grit) against the drive tire for a few moments.  The surface of the drive tire can become glazed, and then it slips on the motor shaft.  That should take care of it.
