Planer Blade Sharpening / Planer jig
February 12, 2014, 05:07:18 PM
I notice today as I sharpen my 12" planer blades they had a high spot in the middle of the blade.  I went through all the steps to get the machine ready to sharpen the blades.  I took the diamond truing tool the the wheel first.  Then the stone grader to remove the grooves from truing the wheel.  Follow by setting up the jig as per the manual.  My thought is that my hand pressure is causing the high spot in the blades.  Any other thoughts?

On the shaft that the stone and leather wheel goes on to.  Dose it need grease on the plastic pillow blocks? If so what grease should I use? I had to change the leather wheel this morning due to the old one coming apart.
