General Tormek Questions / Software
April 04, 2023, 11:58:18 PM
Due to illness I have not used my tormek for sometime. I tried using my Knife Grinder software and it says it not supported any longer. Do you know of a replacement.

Thank You all the help. Has anyone experimented with using Gunny Past on the leather honing wheel?

I am having trouble keeping my grind line even by the bolster. It gets wider next to the bolster. Loving my  T8.

Got a picture?  (There's different reasons...).

General Tormek Questions / Prices
December 15, 2021, 02:56:59 AM
If this is not an appropriate topic please let me know. I am close to start changing for my sharping. Would any one email me there price list, preferably for knifes and wood turning tools I thought I would primarily do knifes, but there is interest in wood tools. I don't  know what I would charge or if I want to fork over the $425 for the wood turning set. My Tormek T8 is a month old, all my family and friends are thrilled with edge's I have been getting. My email address is rickengellant@gmail.com.

I should have said the bottom line. If I set it at 15 degrees it should be a total of 30 degrees. When I do this it seems like I am doing a lot of of reprofiling. Y hen the sharpened bevel it wider than when I started.

On the angle master, are the numbers on the second line DPS?

Thank You so much for you input. Like my dad used to say (Kiss) keep it simple stupid.  I am trying to over think everything.

I am very close buying my an T8. I am a beginner. There are so many wheel options. I am leaning towards the basic set up. Then I can ad more later. Or should I start out with a diamond wheel?

On average how many drill bits would be reasonable to sharpen in an hour. I am considering getting am T8 for custom knife sharpening business. Could drill bits be profitable?
