Wood Carving / Which jigs?????
February 10, 2016, 07:31:14 PM
Jeff Farris and others,

What jig is best for sharpening 8-10" mallet woodcarving gouges using a T7?
It seems the Tormek is used by far more turners than carvers, wonder why?

Thanks in advance

Wood Carving / An interesting Story
January 31, 2016, 03:55:35 AM
This lil story was included in our monthly newsletter from Tannehill Woodcarvers Club near Birmingham, Al.

There were four people, Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to get done and Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry with that, because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody couldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have.

Wood Carving / T4 Run Time
January 30, 2016, 01:34:40 PM
It's my understanding the T4 cannot be ran continuously for more than 30 minutes. For a new user that doesn't seem very long due to the learning curve. What was your experience when you were a new user?

FYI: while corresponding with Affinity Tool Works In February Tormek will have a promotion on the T7 with 10% off. Also found out Tormek does not sell refurbished units any more, not sure whe that went into affect.

Wood Carving / Probable New Tomek T4 owner
January 25, 2016, 12:05:48 AM
I've got the opportunity to pick up a used T4 with 6-7 different jigs for a very good price. I've seriously thought about making the investment but could never pull the trigger. Being a woodcarver that will be the tools it'll be used with plus the wife's scissors as she is a very good seamstrist along with the kitchen knives. Look forward to being on here and learning from you guys and ladies.
