Title: TT-50 on SJ-250?
Post by: Lillis on December 05, 2014, 08:32:44 AM
Is it possible to use the TT-50 (Turning and dressing tool) on the SJ-250 (Japanese stone)?
I think that the edge of the stone is getting a small radius, and need to be flattened.

My gut feeling with any Japanese stone is to go lightly. They cut quickly, but are softer than other stones. No problem, however, it is something to keep in mind.
Start with a very shallow cut.
Keep us posted.

Hi,
I use the TT-50 the same way as I use it on a standard stone. You still use the microadjustment and can be carefull how much to remove.
