On the Idea from DelBoy i built my own Self Centering Jig.

Now i can clamp Knifes who had not a straight Blade to get the same Bevel on every Side.

I must not longer use shimps.

Thanks for your Inspiration!!!!

The Jig in not self centering because the Long Pin whit the Stopcollar is fixed on one Site of the clamp.

When you use a Knife whit a thicker Blade it automaticly not centered like the Tormek Jig.

Very Fine!!!!! :)

Böhler M 390 is no Problem for the original Tormek Stone.

It is sharpening with the T4.

Hunter and Wolfy thanks for presenting your great ideas.  :)

Half turn of the M12 thread with default pitch 1.75 mm will change the bevel angle by almost 0.7 degrees. I have assumed 200 mm stone, 20 degrees bevel angle and 133 mm blade protrusion.

Great Idee but for my Solution is inconvenient to change the Site of the Knife.

You have to unscrew every Time the Bolt of one End to change the Ball Joint at 180°.

Knife Sharpening / SVM 45 Custom

A few Nights ago I think About the SVM 45 Tool.

I ordered a University Ball Joint M12 and a Threaded Sleeve M 12.

I cut the Shaft of the SVM 45 and make Metric Thread M 12 on it.

I turning all Things together.

It is for me the perfekt Solution to sharp my Knifes.

Hi cbwx,thanks for the Links.

It is an good Idea to use Shims to fill the Space between the Knife and the SV 45.

Same Shims on both Side, same Angle. ;)

Hi Ken,thanks for your Answer.

Yes i have 3 of them,2 Linder Super Edge and 1 Puma Knife.

The Blade Form is for the SV 45 not Ideal to clamp.

Before the Tormek,i use a Lansky whit the same clamping Problem.

I think when i use small Plastik Stripes between the Blade and the SV Tool,i can clamp the knife but it is not 100%
to have the parallel Angle.

Best Regards.

I have a Question for clamping my Knife.

Excuise my English and my Handdrawing.

I bought a T4 Bushcraft Edition with the SV 45 Tool for clamp the Knifes.

The Red in the Picture is the SV 45 and the Blue my Knife.

The Knife has no straight Blade,so how can i clamp the Knife that the Angle

Left and Right are the Same?

Best Regards.
