Title: S2000 motor removal
Post by: yukon-rose on March 05, 2021, 05:16:29 PM
I just bought a Supergrind 2000 that is in serious need of an overhaul.

I would like to remove the motor without cutting any wires. In order to do that it appears that I need to take the motor apart.

If you've done that, please offer any suggestions on how you did it.

Thanks.

Gary

Good suggestion. Here is the response I got:

"No you do not have to take the motor apart.

On the inside of the housing you have a cover over the main switch.

This cover can be removed. Underneath you have the wires connected to the main switch with cable shoes.

Just remove them and  the connection point for the earth protection..

Then just tap out the shaft that holds the motor and  then its  loose from the housing."

Perfect. It only took a few minutes to remove the switch. The hardest part was undoing the strain relief.
