Title: Keep it running?
Post by: RyanArcher on April 25, 2004, 06:56:23 PM
Jeff,

I just read a wooodworking forum post that recomended you should keep the machine running for 2-3 hours after using it in order to dry the stone evenly.  He says that if you don't do this, you'll end up with an egg shaped stone and have to true it more often.  Any truth to this?

Sincerly,
-Ryan

That is no a recommendation from the factory.  It should do no harm, but I can't imagine it doing any good, either.

On the other hand, it is important to let the machine run in water for at least 5 minutes before you start sharpening with it.  The stone needs to be fully saturated.
