Title: tormek shaft
Post by: Wood1000 on January 24, 2014, 05:12:17 PM
On the shaft that the stone and leather wheel goes on to.  Dose it need grease on the plastic pillow blocks? If so what grease should I use? I had to change the leather wheel this morning due to the old one coming apart.

I believe they recommend Tri-Flo or Slick-50 One-Lube.  You are talking about the two nylon bearings for the main shaft, correct?

I used white lithium grease because that's what I had on hand, and was told to be stingy with it, as it doesn't take much.

White lith is an excellent choice, Herman. Probably better than the Teflon lubes. It holds up better to the moisture.
