Over the last year my leather strop doesn't seem to take the compound well, and seems to have  glazed over. Also, the profile wheel seems very dry/friable (I initially treated it with mineral oil quite some time ago). Any Ideas??

A bit more mineral oil might help, but be careful.  Too much and the wheel will lose its ability to cut.
