Found my buck knife I purchased years ago. Has anyone sharpened one?  I have a T2000 with the standard stone. Would like to get nice polished edge. Do I need a japanese stone?

Welcome to the forum, Rich.

Buck knives are "good for the duration". I purchased my Buck Woodsman in 1965.

I would sharpen your Buck knife using your SG-250 grinding wheel. Don't skip the graded fine step. Use very light pressure for the last two passes and carefully use the leather honing wheel with honing compound. For many years, the SG was the only Tormek grinding wheel. Countless Buck knives have been sharpened with it.

Be sure to watch the Tormek online classes. the basic knife class will get you up to speed.

You can always add the SJ-250 4000 grit wheel later.

Keep us posted.
